Within the frames of the joint project since 2008 of the Georgian MIA Academy, OSCE Mission in Georgia and Embassy of the USA, on March 7th of the 2009 in the MIA Academy was opened English Learning Canter. The Center is equipped with latest books and computers and aims to teach acting police officers English language, in order to have highly qualified staff.
Specific objects of this project are:
• to engage acting police officers in International Missions;
• to share experience with European States;
• to cooperate with the police agencies of the different states;
Currently 6 groups are being prepared (Beginner - 3 groups, Upper elementary -1 group, Pre-intermediate -1 group, Intermediate - 1 group). At this stage MIA employees from Forensic-Criminalistics Main Division (40) and Service Agency (30) are being trained, totally 70 students.
