Legal Education Program (Second Stage Of The Program)

In spring 2008 international organization, PH-International, made a proposal on legal education program to the Ministry of Education and Science and Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia funded by US International Bureau on Anti-Drug and Law Enforcement Cooperation.
The project was aimed at delivering of joint classes on 'legal culture' for 9th grade school students by properly trained police officers and teachers. The pilot program was launched in January 2009 and lasted for two months.
The second stage of the program
The project is still continuing and 40 public schools are involved in it, thus the number of project participant district policemen was increased up to 45.
The textbook for pupils was improved and added with more visual material, and the program was equipped with different relevant video material.
From October 25, 2009 the lectures were initiated in selected schools, as for the textbook, it encompasses 8 subjects and is meant for 14-16 teaching hours:
• 1. who is the law enforcing official;
• 2. juveniles and the law;
• 3. Court;
• 4. How to manage conflicts;
• 5. Indifference and cooperation;
• 6. Bad habits and how to prevent oneself from their negative outcomes;
• 7. Organized crime;
• 8. My lawful choice
