Firearm license

Firearm licenses are issued by the Public Information Issue Bureau of the MoIA.

Address: 2nd Building of the Ministry.
Working hours:10:00 - 18:00 on weekdays.

In order to receive the application of a citizen for issuance of certain information, permit or certificate he/she should submit to the Bureau his/her ID card and its copy, application forms are standard and are filled in on a place.

The terms of the services below are determined by the General Administrative Code. Service provided by the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia is free of charge! Any request regarding payment of the sum for service acceleration, procedures simplification or for any other reason is illegal and is punishable.



THE TERM OF THE SERVICES BELOW IS LIMITED WITH 20 WORKING DAYS:
1. Purchase and registration of firearm;
2. Re-registration of firearm;
3. Legalization of firearm;
4. Delivery of firearm under commission rule;
5. Transportation of firearm and ammunition;
6. Import of firearm from abroad;
7. Export of firearm;
8. Registration of personally owned firearm;
9. Shooting gallery permit.


1. FOLLOWING IS NECESSARY FOR PURCHASE AND REGISTRATION OF FIREARM:
a) Copy of citizen`s ID card;
b) Health certificate (2nd level);
c) Two color photos (3X4);
d) Bank receipts of payment of registration and permit fees:
for gas system arm:
- in case of physical person 6+6 GEL
- in case of legal entity 12+12 GEL

for firearm:

- in case of physical person 8+8 GEL
- in case of legal entity 16+16 GEL

for combined firearms:

- in case of physical person 10+10 GEL
- in case of legal entity 20+20 GEL


2. RE-REGISTRATION OF FIREARM:
a) Copy of citizen`s ID card;
b) Health certificate (2nd level);
c) Two color photos (3X4);
d) Bank receipts of payment of registration and permit fees:
for gas system arm:
- in case of physical person 3 GEL
- in case of legal entity 6 GEL

for firearm
:

- in case of physical person 4GEL
- in case of legal entity 8 GEL

for combined firearms:

- in case of physical person 5 GEL
- in case of legal entity 10 GEL


3. LEGALIZATION OF FIREARM:
a) Copy of citizen`s ID card;
b) Health certificate (2nd level);
c) Two color photos (3X4);
d) Bank receipts of payment of registration and permit fees:
for gas system arm:
- in case of physical person 3+6 GEL
- in case of legal entity 6+12 GEL

for firearm:

- in case of physical person 4+8 GEL
- in case of legal entity 8+16 GEL

for combined firearms:

- in case of physical person 5+10 GEL
- in case of legal entity 10+20 GEL


4. DELIVERY OF FIREARM UNDER COMMISSION RULE:
a) Copy of citizen's ID card;
b) Firearm registration certificate issued by the MoIA.


5. TRANSPORTATION OF FIREARM AND AMMUNITION:
a) Copy of citizen`s ID card;
b) Bank receipts of payment of registration and permit fees:
- in case of physical person 8 GEL
- in case of legal entity 16 GEL


6. IMPORT OF FIREARM FROM ABROAD:
a) Copy of citizen`s ID card;
b) Health certificate (2nd level);
c) Bank receipts of payment of registration and permit fees:
- in case of physical person 8 GEL
- in case of legal entity 16 GEL


7. EXPORT OF FIREARM:
a) Copy of citizen`s ID card;
b) Health certificate (2nd level);
c) Bank receipts of payment of registration and permit fees:
- in case of physical person 8 GEL
- in case of legal entity 16 GEL


8. REGISTRATION OF PERSONALLY OWNED FIREARM:
a) Copy of citizen`s ID card;
b) Health certificate (2nd level);
c) Two color photos (3X4);
d) Bank receipts of payment of registration and permit fees:
- for gas system arm 6+6 GEL
- for firearm 8+8 GEL
- for combined firearm 10+10 GEL


9. SHOOTING GALLERY PERMIT:
a) Certificate on status of sport organization;
b) Report of the Permit Unit on meeting the criteria determined by the government;
c) Bank receipts of payment of permit fees (8 GEL).
