Within the frames of the fight against illegal migration, the Migration Department employees conducted a special immigration control measure.
Based on the received information, within the framework of special measures, specific locations were checked by the department employees, which was aimed to identify foreign nationals residing in Georgia without legal grounds.
As a result of the complex measures, 7 foreign citizens were detained. Among them are citizens of India and Nigeria. It was determined that they resided in the country in violation of the requirements established by the Law of Georgia “On the Legal Status of Foreigners and Stateless Persons”.
At the moment, the mentioned persons are placed in Temporary Accommodation Center of the Migration Department, while relevant procedures are underway to deport them from Georgia.
The Migration Department will conduct special immigration control measures on the regular basis to ensure the effective enforcement of the Law of Georgia "On the Legal Status of Foreigners and Stateless Persons".
