As a result of complex operational measures and investigative actions, officers of Tbilisi Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, as part of the investigation into the murder of L.J., born in 1964, arrested another person, S.Ts., born in 1997, based on a judge's ruling.
S.Ts. is charged with illegal possession of a firearm.
The committed crime envisions up to 9 years of imprisonment.
The investigation established that the weapon with which G.U. fatally shot L.J. on Chavchavadze Avenue, in March of the current year, was previously registered on the name of S.Ts.
The investigation also established that, in addition to the above-mentioned fact, the firearm registered on S.T. was included in 2 other criminal cases, which confirmed that the S.T. illegally acquired the aforementioned firearms.
The investigation into the murder of L.J. and the attempted murder of his bodyguard, and the illegal sale of firearms is ongoing under Articles 19-109 and 236 of the Criminal Code of Georgia.
