As a result of hot immediate and investigative actions, officers of the Patrol Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs have arrested the driver of a traffic accident on the left bank of the Mtkvari River in Tbilisi, I.S., born in 2002.
The investigation established that I.S., while driving the vehicle, caused an accident with another vehicle, the driver of which lost control of the steering wheel and fell into the Mtkvari River.
As a result of the immediate response, firefighters were able to safely remove one of the passengers in the vehicle from the water. Rescue operations are currently underway for the other passengers, in which, along with firefighters, a diving team and all relevant rescue equipment are involved.
The incident is being investigated under Article 276 of the Criminal Code of Georgia.
