As a result of immediate operative and investigative actions, officers of Shida Kartli Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs arrested B.B., born in 1998, on charges of aggravated premeditated murder against a family member.
The committed crime envisions up to 20 years or life imprisonment.
The investigation established that during a dispute over a past conflict in the village of Osiauri, Khashuri Municipality, the accused person inflicted multiple injuries to his father-in-law, T.M., born in 1961, in his own house with a cold steel in chest and neck areas, after which he fled the scene. The wounded man died at the scene of the accident as a result of the injuries sustained. During the conflict, the accused person also physically assaulted the victim’s spouse M.K., born in 1979.
Law enforcement officers stopped B.B. at "Sarpi" border checkpoint while attempting to cross the Georgian state border. After conducting relevant investigative actions, he was arrested as an accused person.
The weapon of crime, a knife, was seized as evidence.
An investigation into the fact of premeditated murder committed against a family member under aggravating circumstances is in progress under Article 11, Part 109, Subparagraph "k" of the Criminal Code of Georgia.
