Employees of Tbilisi Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, as a result of operational measures and investigative actions conducted at the same time in Tbilisi and Batumi detained 3 persons: A.S. (DoB 1973), V.E. (DoB 1984) and M.Ts. (DoB 1971) while a citizen of a foreign country, E.M. (DoB 1990) was charged in absentia for tampering with the computer system, committed in group with the purpose of receiving financial benefits.
The committed envisions up to 7 years of imprisonment.
The investigation established that the defendants - E.M. and A.S. gained access to the personal data of citizens without permission and illegally transacted their funds to their accounts or accounts belonging to them and those of accomplices - M.S. and V.E.
As a result, 24 citizens suffered financial losses that exceed 9,000 GEL.
As a result of the investigation, the police arrested 3 people.
The investigation is being conducted according to Article 286, sub-paragraphs "A" and "B" of the Criminal Code of Georgia.
