As a result of operational measures and investigative actions, officers of Imereti Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs arrested 2 citizens of the Republic of Latvia on charges of drug crimes.
The following persons are arrested on charges of illegal purchase, storage and attempted sale of a particularly large amount of narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances: N.K., born in 1979, and G.G., born in 1978.
The committed crimes envision up to 20 years or life imprisonment.
During the personal search of those arrested on drug charges, law enforcement officers seized a particularly large amount of various types of narcotics and psychotropic substances as evidence, including: up to half a kilogram of "cocaine" and up to a kilogram of "ketamine", "MDMA" and "mephedrone" substances.
As a result of the investigative actions, the police seized materials necessary for packing narcotics, an electric scale, adhesive tapes and polyethylene ziplock bags.
The investigation is underway under Articles 260, 19-260 (3) and 261 of the Criminal Code of Georgia.
