Officers of Vake-Saburtalo Police Main Division of Tbilisi Police Department under the Ministry of Internal Affairs launched an investigation into the incident at Tbilisi City Court under Article 353-2 of the Criminal Code of Georgia, which refers to an attack on a public servant while performing official duties.
The investigation into the case established that on June 9 of the current year, N.D., born in 1982, attempted to enter the trial of opposition party members and civil activists at the Tbilisi City Court.
The court officers explained to N.D. that he would not be able to attend the trial owning to the fact that the trial had already begun and that court room was overcrowded.
N.D. disobeyed the officers and physically assaulted one of them.
After the incident, the court officers removed N.D. from the City Court building.
Relevant procedural and investigative actions are in progress within the frames of the case.
