As a result of complex operational measures and investigative actions, officers of Kakheti Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs have arrested 6 persons on charges of drug crimes.
The following persons have been arrested on charges of illegal purchase, storage, sale, attempted sale and preparation of a particularly large amount of the drug "marijuana" by a group under a preliminary agreement: M.A., born in 1976, J.K., born in 2001, M.J., born in 1990, B.B., born in 2003, R.N., born in 2003, and Sh.E., born in 1996, who has a previous conviction.
The committed crimes envision by up to 17 years in prison.
The investigation, including undercover investigative measures carried out on the basis of a judge's ruling, revealed that members of the criminal group had created an online drug sales store.
The defendants were using the so-called "placement" to sell particularly large amount of narcotics.
As a result of the personal search of the defendants and residential homes, law enforcement officers also seized narcotics intended for sale as evidence from the locations indicated by them.
As a result of the investigative actions, the police also seized materials necessary for packaging narcotics, electric scales, mobile phones, and, presumably, money received as a result of drug sales.
The investigation is underway under Articles 260(3), 18-260 (3), 19-260 (3) and 273 (1) of the Criminal Code of Georgia.
