As a result of operational, search and investigation measures, officers of Gori Police Division of Shida Kartli Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, detained multiple several times in the past and currently under probation, G.J., born in 2001, for car theft.
The crime envisions up to 7 years of imprisonment.
The investigation revealed that the detainee illegally took possession of a citizen's car, which the owner had left in a car repair shop for. As a result of immemdiate investigative actions, law enforcement officers arrested the accused person several hours after the incident. As a result of the personal search, G.J. was found to be in possession of the keys to the illegally acquired BMW X6, and as a result of the investigative experiment, he indicated one of the locations in Tbilisi where he was hiding the stolen car.
Law enforcement officers seized the illegally acquired car as evidence.
The investigation into the theft of a vehicle is underway under Article 177, Part 3, Subparagraph “d” of the Criminal Code of Georgia.
