As a result of immediate operative measures and investigative actions, officers of Adjara Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs arrested R.D., born in 1984, on charges of attempted premeditated murder and illegal purchase, storage and carrying of firearms.
The committed crime envisions up to 15 years of imprisonment.
The investigation established that during a confrontation in Batumi that began on the basis of a mutual dispute, the accused shot his acquaintance, G.B., born in 1977, with a firearm. The wounded man was taken to the hospital, where he died soon after.
The police arrested R.D. as an accused person as a result of immediate activities.
Law enforcement officers seized the weapon of crime as evidence.
The incident is being investigated under Articles 19-108 and 236 of the Criminal Code of Georgia.
