The following persons were detained on charges of illegal purchase and storage of a large amount of narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances, attempted illegal sale of narcotic drugs, and illegal cultivation of a plant containing narcotic drugs: citizens of the Republic of Moldova: D. S., born in 1980, S. S., born in 1989, A. Ch., born in 1973, as well as citizens of the Republic of Turkey: O. G., born in 1999, M. Ch., born in 2001, F. S., born in 1999, and M. I., born in 2005.
The committed crimes envision up to 20 years or life imprisonment.
During the personal search of the detainees and search activities held in residential places as well as indicated location, a large and especially large amount of various types of narcotic drugs were seized as evidence, including: "Methadone", "Mephedrone", the psychotropic substance "Pregabalin" and the narcotic drug "Dried Marijuana". Law enforcement officers seized an especially large amount of "plant cannabis" from special greenhouses arranged by the defendants for the cultivation of plants containing narcotic drugs.
Herewith, materials and electric scales necessary for the cultivation and packing drugs were seized.
The investigation is underway under Articles 260, 19-260 (3), 261, 265 and 273 (1) of the Criminal Code of Georgia.
